2009 Flipflop Pinot Noir, California $8

If you are looking for a lighter bodied pinot for the spring and your outdoor grilled meals than this is your next choice, and it will not break the bank. It starts with aromas of black cherries, cola, and earthy notes. The flavors are terrific, layers of smokey bacon, spice, vanilla, and cranberries fill the mouth with each sip. The finish lets the smokey and red fruit notes shine through along with creamy vanilla hints. A terrific wine for under $10, that also is giving back to a worthy cause. They have partnered with Soles4Souls to help provide shoes to kids in Africa.
