2007 Woodbridge Syrah, California, $7

This wine has depth and complexity you usually do not see in an under ten dollar bottle of wine. The nose has beautiful fruit notes of cherry and all hints of clove that let the taste buds kick into gear for the first sip. The flavors were out of this world, with fresh ripe red cherries and raspberries flowing across the tongue than developing into dark fruit with hints of black plum but with subtle flavors of pepper starting to show. Al of this lingers nicely and leads into the finish which lets the fruit continue to develop and introduces some clove and cola notes to the tasting experience. A very diverse wine for a great price. Definitely a wine for upcoming summer meals on the grill and or warm evenings.
