2008 Kendall-Jackson Grand Reserve Pinot Gris, California $20

Kendall-Jackson has always made terrific wines for the price, delivering quality and flavor in each bottle. Their Grand Reserve line of wines tend to have more depth and character than the Vintners Reserve line and the price difference is usually only about $10 difference they make a great splurge or "Hey lets celebrate without blowing the bank" wine. This Pinot Gris has layers of lemon curd and custard aromas that fill the glass. These aromas develop into the same flavors but with the addition of a great crispness and acidity. Notes of fresh citrus and green grass compliment the creaminess to make for a very well balanced Pinot Gris. A perfect match for Greek chicken or a pork dish with a light mushroom sauce.
