2007 Louis M. Martini Sonoma Cabernet Sauvignon, California $17
Another terrific year of Cabernet from one of the oldest wineries in California that consistently delivers terrific value for the price. The nose on this wine is packed with bright fruit, layers of blackberries and cherries are framed with a subtle note of dried sage, all of which carry over to the flavor profile seamlessly. The bright red fruit on the tongue is balanced perfectly with a cocoa and herb element that all combine with a terrific softness. There also is a dark chocolate taste on the finish which paired with a note of oak and the resurfacing of the ripe fruit notes makes for an exceptional tasting experience delivering complexity and style in each sip. Terrific with seared Ribeye s or a black and blue salad.
