2007 Sebastiani Carneros Pinot Noir, California $28

One thing I have always enjoyed about this winery is the depth and quality of wine in each bottle and this Pinot did not disappoint. Aromas of dried cherries and smoky oak hit the nose as soon as the first glass was poured. The flavors were outstanding, layers of chocolate covered cherries, wild strawberries, cloves, and cranberries flooded the mouth. These gave way to a subtle pepper and bright fruit finish which lingered perfectly. This was an extremely well made and delicious Pinot Noir for the price. A true match for pork loin or wild game bird which would draw out the spice notes of the wine and compliment the fruit flavors.
