Spaten Dunkel, Germany, 5.5% Alcohol, $9 6 pack

What a terrific beer especially as the weather starts to get  cooler, it pours a terrific light brown amber color with a soft creamy head. The aromas were beautiful, yeasty dark dread and dried fruits and nuts. When the beer it's the mouth the flavors start to explode, toasted malt, raisins, almonds and a subtle yeastiness. The medium bitter notes balance out the fruits and nut taste, and allows the dark malt flavors to hang on the tongue till the next sip. A terrific German beer that delivers and on taste and depth. We enjoyed our glass with some apple sausage and cabbage, the flavors and freshness in the beer really showed the subtle notes in the sausage and add a slight sweetness to the meal.
