2006 Maison Bouachon Châteauneuf-du-Pape "La Tiare du Pape" France $35
With the holidays approaching I always start to be on the look out for wines that will compliment the holiday feasts we enjoy. This wine is soft and subtle but still has the body to stand up to the biggest of meals. Aromas of leather and dark cherries filled the glass and flowed into the mouth with a silkiness and refined charm. Additional notes of earthiness and black plums merry with a vanilla and oak hint. This wine has dark fruit, structure, body, and great tannins and acidity. Would be great now or even in 10 years.
