Fruit beers are never one of my first go to when choosing a brew, but this one will make a convert out of many. Sam Adams has created a blackberry beer without the fruit flavors becoming cloying or too sweet. Great aromas of fresh off the vine blackberries fill the glass with subtle hints of cereal notes. These lead into a truly harmonious tasting experience, layers of spice and orange rind blend together with a maltiness that is complimented with the blackberry accents. The fruit notes just hangs on the tongue will the other flavors act as back up singers for a terrific concert of flavors. Terrific with a dessert or with a salad entrée, or like I did on the porch after a hot day of work.
