J Brut Rose, Non Vintage, California $35
I am a true sucker for Rose sparkling wine, and this is one of my true favorites. A beautiful salmon color with a nose of briar patch berries and creamy yeastiness. The flavors were remarkable, layers of light strawberries, plums and delicate apple notes balanced perfectly with a creamy acidity. The finish has rose petal notes and dried orange zest notes. All of the flavors are perfectly held together with just the right amount of acidity. This is a great sparkling wine for special occasions or memorable dinners on the lawn during the summer evenings.
