Chimay Grand Reserve Blue Label, Belgian $12 750ml 9% Alcohol

One of the true classics in the beer world it is worth every cent. The aromas are out of this world with a slight dried fruit sweetness and some roasted hop notes, which lead into a full bodied treasure. Flavors galore here, starts with a carmel fruit sweetness and than leads into a complex spice and hops element, these are kept in balance with a subtle bitterness and light carbonation. This beer just flows over your taste buds like velvet, a real treat with each sip. You could find yourself savoring this beer all night including with a meal. We enjoyed it with veal dish sauteed with mushrooms and a little of the beer. The dark flavors complimented the earthiness of the beer perfectly.
