2006 Bonny Doon Big House Red, California $12

This wine has everything but the kitchen in it; Petite Syrah, Syrah, Petite Verdot, Carignane, Tannet, Zinfandel, Barbera, Mourvedre, Sangiovesse, Melbac, and Grenache. For a great blend this has always been one of my favorites. It is fresh and lively with aromas of red fruits and subtle spice. The flavors just flow over the tongue and put a smile on your face. Layers of raspberries, cherries, with layers of sweet vanilla and just a touch of oak. The finish is fresh and lively keeping all the different flavors of the grapes alive with each sip. This wine will work with hamburgers to pizza and everything in between.

I've been wanting to try a Bonny Doon wine since I read Eric Asimov's NY Times piece (from The Pour blog) on Randall Grahm. This is an affordable blend I'm looking forward to trying.
