2006 Clos La Chance Estate Grenache, California $30

Grenache is a grape that is unfortunately overlooked by many consumers, it is an extremely food friendly varietal with loads of flavor in each sip without being overpowering. This wine has a terrific nose of fresh strawberries and black plums, which lead into a full flavored treasure of a wine. Vanilla and allspice were balanced perfectly with fresh raspberry and briar patch strawberry notes. An exceptional example of Grenache and one of the best I have tasted in a long time. This wine has a good mouth feel and weight without being overpowering. A great match for pork lion with an olive topping or a lamb dish.

Thanks for the kind words Lain. Our Grenache is one of my favorites and for that exact reason--it goes extremely well with lots of foods. Pinot Noir and Grenache are always my go to on wine lists, especially with a group.
